Seasons Challenge # 5: And If I’d Ever Leave You … [Mar. 13th, 2011|11:59 am]

Title: And If I’d Ever Leave You …
Written by: wren_kt7oz
Timeline: Post S5 - about 2 years down the track; it takes place at Britin
Author’s Notes: This is a kind of song fic, for which I humbly apologise. I don’t write them very often (in fact, the only others I’ve ever written were directly for a song fic challenge), but the theme of this challenge and the lyrics of this song just came together in my head and wouldn’t go away. It is also kind of sappy for which I don’t apologise at all. I figure the boys have earned a few happy moments.

Hot and cold

Feeling his orgasm build, Brian moaned deeply. “Oh, fuck, Justin.” His grunts became even louder. “I’m coming.”

Justin’s tongue poked out to catch the white wet droplets that splashed on his face. He used his finger to gather a few of them from his nose. Concentrating on Brian’s grunts and groans, he licked his finger thoroughly clean.

“That was intense.” Brian’s voice sounded breathless and hoarse.

“Yeah.” Justin chuckled softly. “But, Brian, the next time you want to have phone sex make sure that I’m not in the middle of a fucking snow storm,” he said, snapping his phone shut.

Since daylight savings time starts tomorrow, and I'm not an early riser anyway, I'm going to give everyone a little more time... submissions are due by 10 AM Pacific Time, after which I'll start posting.

I actually have quite a few already, and am not sure how many more are out there, but if there is anyone rushing, you can relax a little. :)

Thanks to those who have already submitted your works! If you signed up and won't be able to turn anything in, please let me know (a couple of you already did, thank you, too!). And remember, the challenge is open to drabbles and icons, as well as full-length fics, other art works and vids, so you can make fandom happy by participating even if you didn't sign up! C'mon! You know I want you to you want to!

Finally! The "Seasons" Challenge! [Jan. 30th, 2011|04:21 pm]
Queer As Folk Writing Challenges, with a B/J focus

xie_xie_xie
[Tags|, , ]

I owe everyone a huge, huge apology. I posted about my total fail at getting this challenge updated with its new timeline and altered theme (it had oringinally conflicted with the gift exchange and also with a multi-fandom holiday challenge), and said I'd be posting the new details shortly, and then, well, I went on a long business trip, got sick, and in general forgot all about it until yesterday when it hit me like a freight train.

I am so very sorry, especially as some folks have already submitted their fics! I understand how you feel, because I, too, have already written my story for this challenge.

So without further beating up of myself, let's get on with it!

The original theme was "Winter"... winter holidays, the season, cold weather, snow, being snowed in, winter sports... but in light of the passing of time (ahem, let me apologize once more), I've changed that to "Seasons," and you can interpret that however you wish -- seasons of the show, the seasons of the year, seasons of life, songs, films or books with the word "seasons" in them, television seasons, holiday seasons, sports seasons, anything at all related to the concept of "seasons." You can even write about Brian getting old like a finely seasoned wine. He won't LIKE it, but you can write it.

Entries can include any of the following: Fic of any length including drabbles; artwork/graphics including but not limited to icons and wallpaper; vids.

The "twist" is that, for the first time, crossover fic/other artworks will be allowed if that's what you want to write, with one restriction:

While you can use real people (eg, Adam Lambert) as well as characters from other fictional works (eg, Reid Oliver, Harry Potter) in your crossover work, none of the "Queer as Folk" actors or QAF-associated real people(eg, Gale Harold, Patrick Antosh) can be in it. It has to be the CHARACTERS of "Queer as Folk" interacting with the real people or characters of another fandom/fictional world. Comment here if you have a question.

Entries in the "Seasons" Challenge are due on Sunday, March 13, no later than 8 AM, US Pacific time and will be posted immediately after that.

To enter, please sign up on this post. There is no official date after which you can no longer sign up, but it's very motivating for other contributers, and for me, to see that people are planning to particiate, so please sign up as soon as you can. It's also very helpful to me to know how many entries to expect, so please, if you're going to submit something, sign up!

Important note: Please read all the information on the profile page HERE to ensure that your work meets all the criteria, or it will not be accepted -- this includes the rule that YOU MUST HAVE YOUR FIC BETA'D! (If you need help finding a beta, post here on IJ's qaf_beta if you have an IJ; otherwise, please comment on this post and we'll spread the word.)

The only deviations from those guidelines, which are for this challenge only, are that non-QAF real person fiction/slash/art will be allowed, and the deadline time is changed.

Fics and other works will, as usual, be posted anonymously for the first five days, during which time you may not reveal yourself as the author/creator or crosspost the work. The name of your beta will be withheld until the authors are revealed, and we ask that you not upload your art or vids to a site or account that identifies you by name/username, so as not to give away your anonymity.

When your submission is ready, email fic, or links to artwork or vids, to me at xie.kay @ gmail.com. Don't forget to include the html coding as outlined at the above link.

Questions? Comment here, or email me!

it's that time of year again! [Jan. 19th, 2011|04:44 pm]

Valentine's Day Secret Admirer Extravaganza 2011!

It is that time of year again and it's time to submit your anonymous Valentine's for 2011. This year, I'm kicking it up another notch and opening this to IJ users! It's something that actually didn't occur to me until this year since this event has solely been on LJ for a number of years but IJ users are more than welcome to participate!

In case you don't know what this is then here are some basic rules:

• Let someone know (anonymously) that you admire them, secretly stalk them like them, miss their stories, love their stories, love their art, etc. The possibilities are endless. It's a really nice thing to wake up to on the morning of the 14th.

• Send as many messages as you want to whomever you want. This is about spreading the love, you guys.

• Please try to send your submissions already HTML coded! This is how you code for a LiveJournal Username: [lj user="username here"] just exchange the [ ] for < >. And if you know basic HTML coding, go for it! Try not to do it using Word because sometimes the coding doesn't transfer over. I'd suggest using Notepad.

• All submissions will be e-mailed here: amelia.lourdes@gmail.com

• The submission deadline is: MIDNIGHT, FEBRUARY 11TH, 2011. This gives me the weekend to work on them.

• ENTRIES WILL BE POSTED ON FEBRUARY 14TH, 2011.

• Questions, comments, suggestions, and contributions welcome! ♥

Example? You can e-mail me something that says:

[info]amelialourdes: Thank you for being a big, bucket of awesomesauce.
[info]amelialourdes: Please buy me lunch tomorrow.

If you want to take a look at past Valentine's Day posts you can go here, here, here, and here.

Spread the word one and all and thanks in advance for participating!

Queensland Flood Relief. [Jan. 17th, 2011|04:57 pm]

Hi guys, as some of you may know, the state of Queensland here in Australia is experiencing horrendous flooding at the moment. Thousands of homes and business are under water, mass graves are needed for the huge number of lost livestock, 15 20 lives have been lost so far and there are still 61 14 people unaccounted for. Thousands of people will be left unemployed as well as homeless.

To raise funds, there's a fan fic auction happening HERE with writers from a wide range of fandoms, including QaF, offering fic to the highest bidder.

If you don't want to bid on fic but you can afford to make a donation or offer to write some fic yourself, it would be much appreciated! Thanks!

You can get more info on the flooding and how to donate HERE and HERE.
